Hackulous Shuts Down, Taking Its iOS Piracy App Installous With It

Hackulous, the company behind the popular (and controversial) app Installous which let people easily download pirated apps on jailbroken iOS devices, has shut down.
In what iDownloadBlog’s Sebastien Page has called “a small victory against app piracy,” Installous is now no longer available for use.
Hackulous announced the closure today in a brief post on its website that reads:
“We are very sad to announce that Hackulous is shutting down. After many years, our community has become stagnant and our forums are a bit of a ghost town. It has become difficult to keep them online and well-moderated, despite the devotion of our staff. We’re incredibly thankful for the support we’ve had over the years and hope that new, greater communities blossom out of our absence.
With lots of love,
Hackulous Team”
Fans of the Installous are mourning the loss on its Facebook page, and, not surprisingly, offering up links to other piracy apps that are still up and running.

Samsung offers free flip covers and TecTiles for GS III and Note II device registrations

If you just received a Galaxy S III or a Note II this holiday season, you could do yourself a favor and register it on Samsung's Facebook page to get even more goodies from Santa Sammy. What do you get in exchange for handing over some personal details and giving the Korean company access to your timeline? Why, a free flip cover and six TecTiles, which usually go for about $15 for a pack of five. We haven't heard much about wide adoption of these programmable NFC tags, but maybe it'll gain some traction after a recent 3.0 app update and this promotional giveaway. We're not sure why the offer doesn't extend to other Samsung phones, but maybe they just don't have enough of those pastel covers to go around.

Next-Generation iPhone To Include Virtual Keyboard And Projected Display? This Particular Artist Thinks So [VIDEO]

Apple’s iPhone 5S will likely be released sometime in early 2013 and will include some minor enhancements like a bump in specs, a longer battery life and possibly even ship in some new colors. According to one Apple fanboy however, it will include the ability to project OS X and a keyboard onto any surface.

Simply set the iPhone 5S down on a hard surface, press the initiation button and then your iPhone will transform into a super computer with a virtual keyboard and projected display. While Fox seems to indeed think a virtual keyboard is in the realm of possibility for the iPhone, unfortunately this technology is not available to be implemented into a smartphone and probably won’t be for the next couple of decades.

The mastermind behind this particular concept is none other than Frank_Snk, the same individual who created the magic mouse iPhone concept. What do you think of this particular iPhone concept? Drop us a line in the comments section below.
